Job Information JOB QUALIFICATIONS:• High school graduate or equivalent required• Must be motivated to work with multi-cultural, dual-diagnosis, and criminal justice clients• Possess an appropriate level of maturity to make fair and consistent decisions regarding the residents• Ability to supervise residents in assertive manner• Ability to role-model appropriate personal hygiene and appearance• Working knowledge of 12-step recovery programs helpful• Must maintain a high ethical standing within community• Must have basic computer skills• Must meet auto insurance requirements• Must possess a valid Texas driver’s license• Must possess or be willing to acquire CPR and First Aid Certification• If in recovery, free of alcohol or drug use for past 12 months• If in recovery, involved in a 12-step program• If an alumna of agency program, must be out of treatment for at least two years• Must submit to criminal background check, employment background check, and urinalysis drug screen• Must abide by agency code of ethicsJOB DUTIES:• Responsible for providing a warm and accepting environment, with a firm and consistent atmosphere where multi-cultural, dual diagnosis individuals may increase their coping skills and move towards an independent lifestyle• Responsible for orientating new residents to program rules and regulations• Required to attend weekly treatment team staffing, in-services, and team-building activities• Teach residents how to make beds, clean house, and keep a daily schedule• Work with residents to improve personal appearance and hygiene • Supervise meal planning, cooking, serving meals, and shopping when assigned in accordance with recognized health standards• Assist other staff, counselors, and volunteers for the benefit of residents• Possess a working knowledge about trauma and its effects on clients and be willing to participate in training (Seeking Safety) to become self-aware and aware of trauma informed services
