Our Core Programs
Alpha Home is announcing our partnership with Rise Recovery, Lifetime Recovery, Pay It Forward, and United Way to provide the Bexar County area with a 24-hour helpline for those seeking help with substance-related issues. By connecting individuals with the appropriate agency, our efforts will ensure help is just a phone call away. Our operators will listen intently, answer questions and provide a referral to the caller based on their specific needs. We look forward to reaching even more of our community who are searching for much-needed support and a path to recovery.

What makes our program unique:
Unlike other programs that focus on short term and brief intervention treatment, Alpha Home offers a continuum of care model. We provide longer lengths of stay during the critical first months of recovery. Lengths of stay vary and are based upon individual needs. Typically, most clients engage in a minimum of 60 days for residential treatment and 4 months of outpatient treatment.
Additionally, all clients may participate in the Alumnae Program following completion. The Alumnae Program offers ongoing fellowship and peer support that can last a lifetime.
Residential Substance Use Treatment
In a homelike setting, Alpha Home’s residential substance use treatment facility helps women, ages 18 and older, acquire the safe coping skills needed to lead a life of recovery. With a gender-specific focus, evidence-based curriculums to improve skills, and counseling support to address all aspects of the difficulties women face in their addiction, Alpha Home offers a treatment philosophy that incorporate its core values of: compassion, integrity, respect and spirituality.
Comprehensive assessment to create individualized treatment plans.
Case management to connect clients to needed community resources with our community partners.
Group counseling which includes process groups and Seeking Safety.
Educational groups that help build healthy living skills, parenting and family education, anger management, mindfulness and tobacco education, relapse prevention skills, health/wellness information, drug and alcohol education.
24/7 direct care staff in a homelike setting.
Behavior modification to address unsafe behaviors, build accountability as well as recognize clients for better choices and when they go an extra mile in their treatment stays.
Sober-related activities to help clients build new supports.
Guidance in creating a solid discharge plan for continued stability in recovery.
Alpha Home encourages clients to participate in Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, or Cocaine Anonymous meetings as an adjunct to their treatment and hosts such meetings to facilitate participation. Our treatment program affirms the best practices of and are routinely informed by the “Principles of Drug Addiction Treatment: A Research-Based Guide,” published by the National Institute on Drug Abuse.
Outpatient Substance Use Treatment
Alpha Home offers gender-specific Outpatient Treatment in San Antonio for both men and women. Alpha Home’s Outpatient Program is for clients in need of treatment who have the skills and support to recover without residential care. The Outpatient Program allows the client to enter or continue treatment in the least restrictive setting. The average length of stay is four to six months and will vary based on individual client needs and circumstances.

AlumnaeThe Alpha Home Alumnae Association is an all-volunteer organization whose mission is to assist and mentor women in recovery, to help women stay in recovery by providing resources to meet their recovery goals, to offer continued support through fellowship, and to present opportunities to serve and enrich their communities.
Participation in the Alumnae Association enables our clients to remain connected to their “sisters” at Alpha Home. Alumnae also serve as sponsors to women still in treatment.
The alumnae group meets weekly to offer encouragement and support to each other and women still in treatment.
